Customer service is horrible. (1/5)

I got the app and within a day, they told me my account was disabled. For what, I don’t know. I hadn’t even taken a ride yet and they disabled my account out of the blue. I contacted customer service and they said their decision was final without even explaining what I did wrong. I tried contacting them again but got no response. Terrible! - Infinity1234567890

Fix pooling (2/5)

The app is great, but as a college student and being broke, pool helps a lot. The feature use to be amazing but as of lately the times are ambiguous. The app will say arrival time between 5:03 and 6:07 to my destination that’s normally 20 minutes away. A smaller time frame like 40 minutes would work but it’s frustrating when every trip at least two people get added and make the arrival time even more further. - Asdfhjkjgfdd

I was charged an unfair cancellation fee when their driver couldn’t find my location. I’ve been speaking with their customer support team for days now and still no refund. First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon above to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it won't cost you a thing!!! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. Who even needs a car anymore? It’s becoming more and more pointless to own a car these days. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away. - ufkjhasf368

Deactivated my account for no reason! (1/5)

I use uber to get to work, the store, my pharmacy, about everywhere when I need it because I’m a student at a university and don’t have a car. Today I opened my account and they said it was deactivated. I followed the steps to reactivate it and they told me this, “Hi Claire, Thanks for reaching out. We’ve reviewed your account and saw activity that doesn’t comply with our Terms of Use. As a result, we’ve determined that you’re no longer eligible to ride with Uber, and we’ve deactivated your account, effective immediately. While we understand this news may be upsetting, our decision is final.” I have not committed any suspicious activities and have no idea what they are talking about. All I used uber for was rides to and from work, stores, and anywhere I needed to go. This is a great upset. I hope they know it’s their loss as I will be switching to Lyft if they don’t resolve this issue. - clrc98


Very Great First Experience (5/5)

I don’t even know where to begin. I found myself in a really bad situation and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get to my destination or not so I had to think fast. I downloaded both Lyft and Uber, Lyft required me to verify through a code then needed me to put in my debit card information I felt overwhelmed already and needed to get a ride fast. So I close out Lyft and go to register on Uber their process was similar with a verification code, but then it took me to the next screen and to my surprise it’s directing me to input a drop-off location. I follow the steps and at the end I discovered that Uber works with ApplePay and all I had to do was put my fingerprint in and my Uber was driver was in route and luckily for me 3 minutes away. When I first learned about Uber I really didn’t think you much of it or felt like I would ever need it. But I do want to say that happily I had to and I had a really good experience. 5 Stars from me! - FutureReferences

I realized when we exited the freeway we were going to Sky Harbor and not my request Mesa Gateway. Then driver said he couldn’t go into Mesa Airport. Confused. But he did get me to curb at airport. - jsrtmila


Uber has become unreliable (1/5)

I feel like Uber just hires anybody now without thorough background checks. On multiple occasions I’ve had drivers not pick me up or cancel on me with intent on keeping my money. I’ve been late to work too many times because of this, regardless of me leaving the house 40 minutes prior to get 3 miles down the road. And by the time I’ve had to reorder another Uber, the prices have raised $2 from the previous one that ditched me. Very sketchy business practice and these people are not giving Uber a good look, and Uber is not giving me a good look at work... Did I mention the time that I had to wait 20 minutes on a dark street corner after my Uber driver arrived, because he kept circling the block in confusion because of a few traffic signs he didn’t understand? When I tried calling him he couldn’t even understand me because he didn’t speak any English. I’m usually good with communicating through body language and tones, but it was nearly impossible over the phone, especially since he kept repeating only 2 words: “Yes sister”... I mean, at least he didn’t cancel on me. He tried his best so I don’t blame him, but I do blame Uber for not having a better handle on things. This driver in a white Nissan Altima attempted to run my wife, son, and I off the 8E freeway today (4/19/2018) at approximately 0800 hours. He was traveling over 90 miles per hour and flipped us off as he cut us off and nearly hit the front of our car. Overall, I haven’t really had many issues with Uber and the drivers. I will suggest three things maybe the developers could add - route options (if there is more than one way to get to a specific location, maybe allow the rider to pick which way they would like to travel), have the customer support number or contact information somewhere near the payment tab, that would be brilliant, and maybe give out some promo codes for existing riders on holidays (thanksgiving, christmas, valentine’s day, just some examples) along with the promo codes first time users can use. Most times the info/maps between what you and your driver see are different. The app tells you your driver is leaving when he/she hasn’t even arrived yet. I can go on and on! Not an option anymore in Cartagena (2/5)

I live in Cartagena, Colombia. I have used the service for many years now but I find it increasingly difficult to find UBERS in my hometown. Drivers complain the fares are very low so they have decided to work elsewhere. You could wait in excess of 20-30 minutes for a driver to show up (if any). Need lots of improvement to have satisfying express pool customers (2/5)

Initially, I loved Uber. Then my opinion totally changed when i tried Uber express pool. I had training for a week, so thought to try uber express pool. My first day experience was awesome. Second day, it was so horrible that I believe that previous ride was exceptionally good. I booked an express pool in the morning. It took 20 mins for app to finally connect to the driver. Map shows driver is 12 mins away, so i waited and left home to go to pickup location When the map showed that the driver was 6 mins away, i reached there 3 mins before, standing for another 5-10 mins and no one showed up. No trip was appearing on the uber app too. I had proof in screenshot that i booked the ride but nothing appeared on app wgen it got cancelled by driver. Then booked another ride and as usual took too long to connect to the driver. In frustration and worry of getting late, i had to book UberX. Then in the evening, i was walking towards the pickup location when I saw the booked driver/car crossing the street to stop at the pickup location but to my surprise the driver hardly waited for few seconds and canceled the ride. What?? Shouldn’t he alteast wait for 2 mins before canceling the ride?? Or look to his left/right that i am waiving at him. My ride which took 20 mins to connect to the driver first, then driver just left in front of me! So rude. I checked app, it showed driver canceled the ride and it charged me $5!! Why??? Again, Pool was taking too long to connect to the driver, so I had to book UberX. UberX driver told me that many passengers complain that driver cancels their ride. Is anyone at Uber listening to customer complaints?? Why drivers have option to cancel the ride after accepting the ride? I lost my trust in Uber after this incident - Pelly157

Tragic app why does it keep reassigning different drivers as it’s getting closer to my pick up location. I was assigned a driver who isn’t even on duty after it switched 5 times. Is passenger rating neccessary? (1/5)

I have been in a car accident so I had to use uber for two weeks from now and I have taken many rides before too. And I always make sure that I showed up on time, wear a seatbelt, and show enough courtesy every single time. And if this is not enough, I always tip through the uber app usually range from 2-8 dollars per trip depends on the total. Guess what, my rating as a passenger decreased from 4.93 to 4.81, seriously? Then they charged fully than three times more . That’s wastage of money and time . They show just 7or 8 dollar sometimes for my destination. Horribly inaccurate (1/5)

I travel quite often and constantly use uber at airports. The time it takes for my driver to arrive and pick me up takes anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. However the app itself at all times shows just 4-5 mins of expected wait time; then proceeds to count down to 1; then resets to 5 again. If the driver is clearly 10-15 mins away on the map, why does the app show 4 minute wait time? Is it to reduce cancellation rates? - Heywood22
