This new update is terrible! There is a glitch when you go to search for something. It doesn’t click whatever your searching if you choose from one of the options, instead it brings you to whatever link that is UNDERNEATH the item you chose. Usually for me that’s “today’s deals”. Then you have to go back and start all over again. Please fix it! - Lolalife


Why other less than 5? (5/5)

I think people don’t realize what an app is meant to do. It’s not meant to have every possible functionality of a massive website like an Amazon. This is a good app no question. 4 stars or less would have to be critical functionality isn’t working right but it does. Go to your job where you have a computer what you do all your work and tell your manager, “today I’m only going to do the work I can do from my phone, sorry, I’m just a dumb know it all millennial, with false principals. This update brings auto playing video (1/5)

I use amazon for a decent amount of shopping. I do some of this shopping on my phone while I commute to work on a train. I will listen to music or podcasts while doing so. Now when I scroll down the home page past an advertisement with auto play video it triggers it. This shuts down my music or podcast. It very annoying and I’m starting to not use the app on my phone because of this. I’m already on the app to shop I don’t need amazon showing me auto play videos of products I have not interest in. Please remove this “feature”. If you do this I’ll raise my rating. - Jdigs88

Search on v11.7 seems to be broken on first launch (X 11.3 device). it seems that when I first tap on a search result it always ghost clicks to the home page placement behind the search result, works on second attempt (which forces you to retype your query). - Chefsalty1984

Customer Service (3/5)

Amazon Customer service has always been five stars, but can’t be reached by email any longer through the app. An email allows a customer to provide all the info needed for customer service to resolve an issue without having to wait on them to do so. The chat option gives no indication that customer service is responding and forces you to wait. The back and forth between customer and customer service trying to resolve issues is less efficient than an email that’s linked to the order details. The automated portion of chat is a further waste of time only linking you back to your orders and usually in circles. Not a fan of the latest changes. - JoshuaSterling

If I type in the search bar and select one of the pre-filled suggestions (instead of typing my whole search), the app takes me to a link from the home screen, instead of to my search results. Video ads? (3/5)

The new addition of video ads is very annoying and stop any audio you may be listening to in the background, and shows up in your control center so you have to exit the Amazon app to restart whatever you were listening to originally. Aside from this, the “view all lists” link when viewing wishlists can be unusable to temperamental, but most everything else does its job. - paperbuildings

Either all 5 stars, which never happens, or all 1 star which would make sense if the item is garbage. No internet connection (3/5)

The app is great, easy to navigate, and simple to use. My only issue is that I constantly get errors stating that there is no internet connection. This causes me to have to switch over to safari and just go to amazon.com which works just fine so it’s not my internet connection that is the problem. - Matt Hotchkiss

I tried to buy a $3 hair brush and it never told me proceed to checkout, only continue shopping. The moment I added something I didn’t need, proceed to checkout option pops up. Terrible Company (1/5)

Amazon App/Website is not easy to use/purchase from. The platforms are bloated with adds/options/misleading nonsense placed on screen where it’s easy to accidentally click on. All I wanted to purchase was 2 cheap mechanical pencils... I was not there looking for “reduced” rates at the Hilton. I put two of these pencils in my cart, proceed to checkout, and they tell me I need to add “x” amount of dollars worth item/s to obtain free shipping... If I choose not to do this, they say shipping is $12.00. I’m sorry but it does NOT cost $12.00 to ship 2 pencils weighing no more than 1 ounce. So I add more items to waive shipping charge... Click proceed checkout, they then show separate 12.00 shipping charge for each item. I clear out my cart and attempt purchase this pencil from different seller/different brand... Similar issue happens, and on top of this, there is no proceed to checkout button anywhere... Do you want to sell the item or not? Thanks for wasting my time... thank you so much... Amazon is clearly doing crooked business and I don’t have time to read nonsense posted all over the site. Also last purchase I made from Amazon before this attempt, Amazon presented a button to click “finalize order”... I click this button and they never asked me to verify my method of payment... Instead they automatically charged my points... I had to return the items and start over... Again, thanks for wasting my time... I shouldn’t have to spend time leaving this review but everyone needs to know what they may be up against doing business with Amazon... I am thoroughly unimpressed with this company and will never order from Amazon ever again. I do NOT want to hear response to this review from Amazon as I believe these and other similar problems runs too deep in this company. I firmly believe there’s nothing they will/can do about it.
